Occupational Summary
Direct the monitoring and maintenance of all real property owned by Duke University.
Work Performed
Develop and maintain automated records and databases of office accounts, lease rentals and repairs, and listing of property taxes; ensure maintenance of meticulous and current records on home sites, maps, deeds and other real estate documents.
Obtain appraisals on real estate properties; list and pay taxes on real property; determine appropriate insurance and ensure renewal according to guidelines on real estate properties.
Review collection of monthly rent payments on rental property; establish procedures for follow up when payments not received.
Maintain liaison with University and external sources including appraisers, real estate agencies and property owners; represent University position as appropriate.
Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hirings, promotions, performance appraisals and vacation schedules.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
