Occupational Summary

Manage and coordinate the business and operational activities of a recording studio facility, to ensure effective administration of fiscal, personnel and operational procedures.

Work Performed

Develop, implement, and assess the Centers programs and services to advance strategic and operational objectives.

Oversee the design, implementation, and assessment of educational activities, events, and programs that support students and promote inclusion and social justice.

Prepare reports and analyses on trends and findings as needed.

Provide leadership and direction to initiatives focusing on cultural community.

Oversee personnel and mange operating budget and facilities.

Supervise daily operations of the Center and maintenance of facilities and equipment with attention to effective business processes.

Direct the use of technology for improving program delivery and assessment of program and services.

Recruit, supervise, and mange performance of staff.

Mentor and guide their work as well as professional development.

Develop and monitor budget ensuring adherence to University standards and expectations of fiscal management.

Serve as advocate for Asian American, Latin, Native American, and multi- racial/ethnic students by examining policies, practices and processes and making recommendations for changes to ensure the success of individuals as well as delivery of exemplary programs, activities and services.

Cultivate relationships and maintain contacts with administrative offices, academic departments, and community organizations as well as with faculty and staff.

Serve on campus wide committees related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Provide counseling on an individual basis to support and enhance the personal, social, and academic success of students.

Manage the advising of student cultural organizations affiliated with the Center and provide guidance regarding pertinent issues affecting the community.

Respond to events that impact the Duke community.

Stay abreast of latest developments in multicultural education and research.

Participate in local, regional, national and international professional development opportunities.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires knowledge of studio operations and management, as well as communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program in Video or Audio Production, Educational Media or related field.

Experience

Work requires two years experience in a business management, production design, video or audio production facility or related setting to acquire skills necessary to coordinate operational activities of a recording studio facility.
