Occupational Summary
Plan, develop and implement contemporary recruitment strategies designed to attract qualified candidates on an Executive level for Duke University and the Duke University Health System. Conduct research and analyses of recruitment strategies and policies, supporting the mission and business goals of Duke University and Health System.
Work Performed
Work directly with Recruitment leadership to respond to the need for Executive level recruiting including recruitment search planning, support of search committees, coordination with search firms, and completion of hire.
Monitor activity of all search firms utilized by Duke departments in accordance with Duke standards and contract procedures.
Serve as a key member of the Recruitment team by carrying out responsibilities of a recruiter for assigned departments, primarily for the Duke University Health System; provide a high level of customer service by consulting with and guiding hiring managers regarding recruitment and staffing issues, policies and processes; understand and support the recruitment needs of departments, and aggressively recruit for qualified candidates.
Coordinate activities with other elements of Recruitment (including Duke Temporary Services) to ensure that activities flow seamlessly, swiftly, and efficiently between all functions.
Provide liaison with various Human Resource departments such as HRIC, Benefits, Rewards and Recognition, Employee Occupational Health Services, and Staff and Labor Relations to streamline recruitment procedures.
Assist with the evaluation of applicant pool quality to include assessing pool through survey of recruiters and hiring managers, tracking time to hire data, determining cost to hire by collecting appropriate data, and evaluating diversity of hires by reviewing candidate pools on a regular basis.
Make budgetary projections and recommendations to Recruitment leadership regarding staffing patterns and overall recruitment needs and expenses.
Assist in reporting and analyzing measurement data to enhance the business decision-making which will impact staffing and continuous process improvement; participate in the communication of results of measurement analysis to hiring managers.
Assist in supporting the Universitys Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Program; consult with and provide coaching to managers to gather data needed to improve the policies and practices; recommend enhancements for a diverse workforce.
Keep abreast of market trends and demands impacting on Duke Universitys ability to attract competitive candidates including cutting edge technologies and social networking trends; serve as a critical management resource regarding such trends; coordinate with Rewards and Recognition in advising departments on salary considerations and equity.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field (including Health Care) required.
Experience
Work requires three years of experience working closely with hiring managers on recruiting and other human resource issues in a dynamic and diverse environment.
Skills
Project management; PC-based and quantitative skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP, Access); excellent written/oral skills; strategic planning; strong research and analysis; high level and complex recruitment skills; understand employment law; conflict resolution and strong collaborative/facilitative style
