Occupational Summary

Supervise, and coordinate the operational activities involved in processing charges and reimbursements for services rendered, revenue auditing and determining reimbursement for departmental service areas; assume the duties of Supervisor, Financial Services.

Work Performed

Coordinate and supervise operational activities involved in processing charges, reimbursements and expenses for overall consistency and compliance with university policies and procedures.

Maintain interface with hospital financial management personnel to ensure compliance with Charge Processing and Auditing Policies and procedures.

Direct the audit process of expense reports for compliance and adherence with university policy and procedures.

Develop and recommend operating policies and procedures and long range objectives.

Perform detailed analysis of assigned accounts, prepare reports and analysis setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations.

Plan and conduct meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established practices, to implement new policies and to keep employees abreast of current changes and standards.

Maintain interfaces with financial management, departmental business managers, data processing systems management, and service area management.

Develop recommendations and provide specification for system changes, including managing workflow, system design and support, and customer service.

Assist in the determination of fiscal requirements and in the compilation of budgetary recommendations; monitor departmental expenditures for compliance with budgeting constraints.

Recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions and vacation schedules; train new employees.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.

Experience

Work requires four years of progressive experience in a financial services field.
