Occupational Summary
Perform a variety of intermediate and advanced statistical and technical activities for the design of academic research studies and for the collection, compilation and analysis of statistical data in support of a statistical function.
Work Performed
Perform a variety of intermediate and advanced statistical and technical activities for the design of research studies and for the collection, compilation and analysis of statistical data, in conjunction with an academic research program in one of the department's centers or institutes of the university. Work as a member of a research/study team. Provide statistical input in the design, execution and analysis of scientifically conducted studies.
Develop operational procedures for the collection, editing, verification and management of statistical data.
Operate computer hardware and statistical analysis software to manage and analyze data. Perform statistical analyses for a broad spectrum of types of data and studies. Prepare written reports as required.
Provide oral presentations of statistical or technical scientific information to inform and report on the progress of research studies.
Provide supervision for lower level or less experienced employees engaged in the collection, tabulation and statistical analysis of data.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Position requires a minimum of a Master's degree in statistics, (bio) statistics or related field and 2 years relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in statistics, (bio) statistics or related field and 4 years relevant experience.
