Occupational Summary

Assist the in the administration of various student programs, with primary responsibility for coordinating activities/services which supports both students and faculty and ensures students are provided with appropriate co curricular and extra curricular support and advice.

Work Performed

May provide leadership for some student affairs/activities and services.

Design, coordinate and implement various activities/programs that may relate to the registration of students, including pre registration and drop/add sessions; plan, develop and implement written materials relevant to these activities.

Maintain liaison with the University Registrars Office to ensure timely and accurate transmission of registration related data such as course schedules, enrollments and grades, and to resolve discrepancies; represent the the School in developing and implementing appropriate systems and procedures with the University Registrars Office and with University administration.

Coordinate activities involved in the establishment and maintenance of student records, ensuring completeness, accuracy and adherence to University and School standards; review records to certify graduation requirements are met; prepare related lists.

Cultivate partnerships with academic departments, administrative units, and community organizations to ensure the consistent delivery of high- quality services to students and key constituents.

Coordinate and/or assist in the administration of student services processes such as core course exemption process, teacher course evaluation process and tutoring programs.

Coordinate and/or assist in the planning and implementation of various student related activities to include graduation, orientations and sponsored events; serve as advisor to student organizations and groups; serve as source of academic and personal counseling for students.

Work with student leadership to assist in scheduling, enhancing and delivering high quality student programs that are related to the curriculum, as well as those which are not.

Assist in developing relevant policies and procedures along with the Associate Dean and Director of various programs and/or Committees.

Plan and implement systems to manage student records and related data; may complete system design and modification.

Compile and analyze statistics for administrative utilization; prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions; prepare and/or revise publications; respond to external inquiries regarding students, student policies and student activities.

Advise student leaders on organizational, business, leadership, legal liabilities, financial administration, and other issues including interpretation of University policies and procedures.

Interview prospective students and represent the School at admissions related functions as requested.

Interpret policies and procedures, make decisions on specific operating problems, and provide direction in accordance with precedents and policies.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires communications, organizational and analytical skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree.

Experience

Work requires two years experience in academic administration, student registration records or a related setting to become familiar with regulations, policies and procedures related to student services activities.
