Occupational Summary

The Manager, Organizational Learning oversees and directs the development, deployment and management of all Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) training initiatives within the organization, including overseeing technical and required regulatory training programs. Analyzes organization training needs and facilitates formal and informal presentations to senior management, and other internal groups as appropriate. Develops and manages client relationships and serves as an expert in area of expertise.

Work Performed

Facilitates and ensures development and delivery of DCRI / DTMI training programs.

Manages departmental budget in collaboration with department leader to ensure deliverables are met in a fiscally responsible manner.

Oversees all training programs to ensure regulatory and clinical trial specifications are met.

Collaborates with senior leadership to identify strategic consulting and training needs, course design, development and delivery methods.

Provides management oversight of static classroom and eLearning course offerings and identifies external resource consultants for leadership, writing, site start up work and clinical research monitoring best practices.

Each Organizational Learning Consultant level is responsible for the job responsibilities at their level as well as the job responsibilities for the Learning Consultant levels below it.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires a Master's degree. Coursework or certification in instructional systems design, training delivery, and/or HPI (Human Performance Improvement) is highly desired.

Experience

Requires a minimum of 10 years directly related professional level Human Resources training and/or management consulting.

Experience designing and delivering online and classroom training.

Experience managing the work of others, leading small teams, and representing their function on and coordination with cross functional teams is preferred.

A reviewable portfolio of training deliverables is desired.

Familiarity with applicable regulations and guidance and industry standards (i.e. CDISC, ICH, 21 CRF, etc.).

Working knowledge of and experience applying GCDMP.

Skills

Proficiency in Adobe Presenter and other online training tools Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently & to independently set priorities.

Strong communication skills an interdisciplinary team setting.

Ability to use interactive computer programs and quickly learn new applications
