Occupational Summary
Direct major areas of investment activity or assist another Investment Manager in managing major areas of investment activity including equities, hedge funds, fixed income, commodities, currencies, venture capital, buyouts, real estate, timber, and energy for DUMAC, the investment arm of Duke University.
Work Performed
Develop investment plans and implementation strategies for assigned investment areas, research investment opportunities, conduct due diligence on prospective investment managers, and evaluate DUMAC's ongoing investment manager array.
Monitor the capital market environment, external money managers, and DUMAC's direct investments; analyze and make recommendations as appropriate.
Assist in the evaluation of economic conditions and overall portfolio positions, work with asset class heads in recommending changes in strategy of asset mix and in determining which investments to make and/or recommend for approval.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work requires communications and analytical skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. An MBA and CFA are preferred.
Experience
Work requires experience in research and financial analysis, generally acquired through two years of related experience.
