Occupational Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing one of the three designated areas of the Duke Sports Performance Department, including staff supervision, team scheduling, budget management, liaising with various other team support areas, facility operation and maintenance, and development and implementation of training and recovery programs for one or more sport teams.

Work Performed

Supervise and support sports performance coaches in the designated area through daily staff management, ongoing professional development activities, weekly planning meetings, and other means as needed.

Schedule team training activities and monitor the sports performance training facilities in the designated area.

Draft and implement physical development, recovery, and mobility programs to enhance strength, speed, cardiovascular endurance and sport- specific skills for one or more teams.

Assist with rehabilitation of sports related injuries to student- athletes.

All duties must be performed in compliance with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Health Sciences or related field.

Current NSCA CSCS or CSCCa SCCC certification.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years as a sports performance coach at the collegiate or professional level with a minimum of 2 years of professional staff supervisory experience at the collegiate or professional athletics level.

Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
