Occupational Summary

The Associate Director reports to the Director of the Press, and works in close conjunction with the other strategic managers and functional directors who each oversee large areas of the Press's operations.

Work Performed

Strategically plan for and lead the operational or publishing department (s) assigned in support of the publishing mission of DUP.

Create staffing management plans for area of responsibility; provide strong leadership in areas of performance management.

Communicate clearly and effectively with direct and indirect supports to effectively lead efforts including but not limited to change, growth, and opportunity.

Conceptualize the structure and growth of DUP programs as required to meet the mission; develop and lead new programs that support the mission of DUP.

Oversee the management of budgets and financial performance analysis in functional areas of responsibility.

Oversee revenue and/or expense management; develop initiatives needed to meet and/or support the mission of DUP.

Participate in Press administration as a strategic manager and functional director.

Work collaboratively and productively with other strategic managers and functional directors in a spirit of continuous improvement.

Create and maintain exceptional relationships with business partners as needed to promote the interest of DUP.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Bachelor's Degree in a related area, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience, and working knowledge of administrations, operations, or publishing.

Experience

Work requires knowledge generally acquired through a minimum of six years experience working with senior leadership.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
