Occupational Summary

The Associate Director of CAPE is responsible for program planning, administration, and management of projects and initiatives consistent with the goals and strategic directions of CAPE

Work Performed

Program accountability both operational and financial to the Board of Advisors as evidenced by coordination of program budget, development and fiscal feasibility of program budgetary needs via aggressive exploration of grant funding.

Identification and triage of qualified Candidates

Facilitation of the student's orientation to the CAPE program in conjunction with Duke Athletic Dept, the School of Medicine and Duke Facility.

Communication of expectations and program guidelines with CAPE students and their families/support structures.

Ongoing coordination of the student's preceptor ship needs inclusive but not exclusive of clinical time, program service expectations, and individual athletic needs as related to their scholastic achievements.

Liaison relationship with entities involved in all aspects of the students academic and athletic responsibilities.

Continuous evaluation of the program's effectiveness.

Strategic planning of long-range program vision to include writing and submitting grant proposals.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree program. Master's degree preferred.

Experience

Work requires the ability to plan and administer programs and direct program activities within a specific functional area, generally acquired through three years of related experience.

OR ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
