Occupational Summary

This position provides leadership and coordination of the strategic goals of the supply chain function. It advises the organization on patient safety and clinical aspects of the supply chain function.

Work Performed

Plan, Coordinate and communicate Duke Medicine supply Chain activities.

Provide leadership and oversight of vendor access to hospitals.

Provide Strategic direction for health system production standardization.

Direct Initiatives including Value Analysis teams and production standardization.

Ensure products, equipment and services are safe for patient care through oversight of product recall process.

Regularly interface with VP office of Medical Affairs.

Assure that all supply chain negotiations are ethical and create an environment of fair competition.

Represent the Supply Chain on external and internal committees and task forces.

Build relationships with key customers including operational leadership and department heads.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires a Bachelors degree in related field.

Experience

Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in supply chain activities; must have experience in a critical care setting.

Must have experience with multi-facility, integrated delivery networks.

Must have experience in leading cross functional teams in complex activities that crossover departmental and entity boundaries.
