Occupational Summary

The Market Research Analyst is responsible for the quantitative analysis of internal and external data for strategic and performance insight. The Analyst provides professional presentations of analysis results both orally and in writing.

Work Performed

Assist in ongoing development of customer segmentation and statistical models. Support creation of a knowledge database for use across the School.

Conduct analyses of current and potential marketing and strategic initiatives to identify key insights and opportunities: ROI of events and activities; Efficacy of marketing and sales efforts; Market data trends and leading indicators that influence strategic and tactical decisions across the School.

Assist with collection and submission of data for external rankings. Presentation of findings, including recommendations to various departments

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Bachelors degree in statistics, business or related field is required. Masters degree preferred.

Experience

A minimum of three years experience in statistical modeling/analysis is required. Experience must include providing written and oral presentations of results. Work experience in higher education a plus.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Skills

Ability to work within a team environment; Strong/persuasive communication skills and the ability to quickly develop relationships across teams and departments; technical skills; statistical modeling and market segmentation using data mining tools; proficiency with querying tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, SPSS), Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint; query complex data warehouses, and aggregate data for strategic reporting; ability to conduct analyses with relative autonomy; exposure to CRM, knowledge repository, and data warehouse solutions a plus.
