Occupational Summary

Work with senior academic and administrative officers in support of financial management, institutional research and/or institutional planning efforts within the Budgets, Planning and Institutional Research group in the Office of the Provost or the Medical Center Office of Finance and Resource Planning.

Work Performed

Work with senior academic and administrative officers in support of financial management, institutional research, and/or institutional planning efforts in the form of compilation, analysis, reporting, data exploration and interpretation.

Collect, analyze and interpret financial data relating to the academic sector and identify corresponding policy implications and/or recommendations; analyze revenues and expenditures and prepare analyses for the Provost Management Center/Office of Finace and Resource Planning setting forth progress, trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.Support financial services to schools and departments; serve as resource and expert on financial issues and processes for academic sector.

Help develop and institutionalize a new management reporting environment based on new enterprise systems.

Work with internal colleagues to support ongoing budget and financial analysis activities.

Respond to ad-hoc queries from Vice Provost for Finance and Administration, Director of Academic Financial Services and Systems,Vice Dean for Finance and Resource Planning, students, faculty, other offices within the institution and externaldata requests. Assist in interpreting and reporting on results of institutional surveys of students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff.

Provide support for developing institutional resources encompassing the entire range of institutional data areas.

Meet with students, faculty and administrators to discuss and explain research findings as needed.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires advanced knowledge of both statistical analysis and interpretation, acquired through a BA in a related field.

Experience

Requires 4 years of relevant experience.
