Occupational Summary

As a member of the Compensation project and data team and in collaboration with other areas across Duke such as Payroll, HR, and ASM, responsible for: 1) the completion of day-to-day data analysis and transaction work for Duke's workforce, 2) significant project work related to the completion and analysis of salary surveys, and 3) in collaboration with the Benefits team, is accountable for the development of meaningful Total Rewards decision analytics tools, selection of appropriate benchmarks, the interpretation of the findings, and the development of appropriate recommendations.

Work Performed

A primary responsibility of the position is ensuring the data integrity of applicable pay data and supporting the day to day data needs of the Compensation team, inclusive of creating reports, completing data implementations, performing QA analysis and testing on large data sets, and monitoring the accuracy of Compensation communications such as accuracy of hiring guidelines and pay ranges on our HR website, within SAP, as well as our internal/external interfaces, and documentation of processes.

An additional responsibility of the position is leading the collection, compilation, and interpretation of data in the development of applicable Total Rewards metrics, collaborating with others across Duke reviewing for trends and patterns related to pay and benefits, with attention to recruitment, turnover, and other indicators related to the effectiveness of Duke's Total Rewards programs, costs, and return on investment.

Develops meaningful professional relationships such as HR, payroll, and SAP partners across the enterprise to be thought partners on new initiatives as well as enable project implementations from thought to implementation. Builds consensus on shared data elements and reporting needs across entities/departments.

Evaluates and completes salary surveys to assure the continued robust data set to benchmark Duke's positions, leads periodic uploads to survey library as applicable, collaborates with R&R team to assure matches are accurate, and regularly reviews results to identify significant midyear salary movement.

Seeks tools and strategies for improving data and administrative processes and supporting strategic initiatives and programs.

May conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs are properly classified as exempt or nonexempt.

Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration or a similar quantitative field.

Experience

Work requires five years of progressively responsible experience within a large, complex organization. Demonstrated expertise managing large data sets to enable leadership decision making.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Skills

Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Excel inclusive of queries, Vlookups, pivot tables, graphing, and similar analytics to enable decision support required.

Proficient in MS Access database development, queries and maintenance required.

Proficiency with Tableau and/or other visual software or willingness to develop such proficiency required.
