Occupational Summary

Plans, develops, and coordinates global education programs at Duke. Administers assigned global education programs, advises students regarding study options, and assists Director in the operations of the Global Education office.

Work Performed

Works with Director, students, and faculty to enhance and develop global education opportunities at Duke; evaluates and monitors current and new programs; arrange for course and faculty approval for Duke global education programs.

Administers assigned programs including: manages the recruitment of students, manages the evaluation and selection of students, interacts with Duke and other school departments to coordinate programs, conducts orientation of programs for students, and may conduct on-site visits to programs. Advises students regarding global education programs including the integration of global education into academic plans, recommendations of programs, assistance in the application process, and answers queries of students, parents, faculty, and departments. Assist Director in the operations of the office including long-range planning and supervision of support staff.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires and in-depth knowledge of academic program planning, development, and implementation generally acquired through completion of a Master's degree program.

Experience

Work requires two years of experience in academic and/or administrative capacity to become familiar with various academic, co-curricular, programmatic and/or administrative activities.
