Occupational Summary

Direct and coordinate the daily operation of programs and events for the Duke Chapel and/or its affiliate organizations, particularly programs focused on student ministry and missions.

Work Performed

Direct, plan, and implement programmatic components of the program including protocol, procedures and operating policies. This may also include developing program content and schedules, evaluations, and preparation of related reports. Work with the Associate Dean and Dean to develop long-term strategic goals.

Plan, implement, and evaluate promotion and publicity of programs including, but not limited to, coordinating special events, composing publicity material, and working with print and electronic designers.

Assist the director of Chapel development to secure program funding as needed.

Assist in the development and management of program budgets. Track expenditures, as well as maintain fiscal records and budgetary reports as specified.

Establish and maintain liaison with University departments and the Durham community to facilitate participation in programs. Facilitate student engagement in Durham. Represent programs, the Chapel, and the University by serving on committees, task forces, and non-profit boards in the community.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Master's degree.

Experience

Work requires two to five years of experience.
