Occupational Summary
Provide administrative direction and coordination of operational budgets, direct use of reserve and restricted funds and monitor fiscal operations. Implement University policies and guidelines as they relate to budget and payroll.
Work Performed
Direct and coordinate budget preparation for a large organization; consult with officials to determine policies guidelines and program changes; prepare and distribute budget information.
Maintain interface with departments to ensure compliance with established budgets and operational plans to investigate variances and recommend solutions, and to develop long range financial plans.
Direct financial analysis of major programs, new initiatives, and capital projects, including cash requirements. Collect, analyze and interpret financial data as requested by higher management; review financial analysis and business plans for reasonableness.
Provide information to various professional and University organizations or staff concerning fiscal operations.
Direct various departmental personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisal, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
Experience
Work requires a minimum of 10 years related business or administrative experience to acquire competence in applying general accounting principles, personnel practices and coordination of major administrative functions.
