Occupational Summary

Directs web strategy for the entire School of Medicine (SoM) including development and creation of School of Medicine federated model which includes more than 70 School of Medicine websites.

Work Performed

Directs web strategy for the entire School of Medicine (SoM) including development and creation of School of Medicine federated model which includes more than 70 School of Medicine websites.

Project manager for School of Medicine federated web model which includes more than 70 websites.

Directs and guides efforts of SoM communicators and web content managers of more than 70 School of Medicine units to ensure ADA compliance, provide strategic direction, assess needs, and troubleshoot.

Schedules all web work with web development team.

Administrative lead for SoM Web Governance Council.

Oversees development of web theme and modules.

Evaluates and assesses the results of work accomplished by the web design and development teams to ensure quality.

Tracks all federated model project deadlines and manages all expenses associated with federated model including invoicing and collection from SoM units (in partnership with SoM Finance Office).

Reviews and approves requests from SoM units for funding for website development and maintenance (via SoM Finance Office).

Serves as SoM liaison with Duke Web Services and DHTS Web Services Group to ensure adequate support and service from both entities for SoM and SoM units.

Co-leads SoM Web Teams Forum in partnership with SoM Web Applications Developer.

Manages web content and development for School of Medicine website.

Manages content for SoM website, including SoM blog.

Responsible for design, development and functionality of SoM website.

Serves as project coordinator and liaison with more than 40 individuals who manage content for SoM webpages.

Develops training materials and holds training sessions for content managers.

Managers content and development for SoM intranet.

Manages SoM Social Media: Two Twitter Accounts, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

Produces School of Medicine bi-weekly e-newsletter.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires a Bachelor degree in graphic design or computer science.

Experience

Work requires three years of progressive web design and production experience. Experience with web design project management preferred.
