Occupational Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Environmental Services, the Director, UEVS is responsible for managing the integrity of the work loading & Quality Assurance software program, Logistics Support functions (supply management, equipment repair, inventory, vendor/contract management, university floor care, safety, onboarding/department comprehensive training program, department emergency management plan and special projects) as assigned by the Executive Director. The Director, UEVS will work closely with the Executive Director on tactical/strategic short and long range goals in the areas of staffing levels for new and existing facilities, equipment, supplies, materials and tools needed to support the housekeeping program. The Director, UEVS will assist in the development and review of proposals for outsourcing/contracts prior to submission and will oversee the supervision and oversight of vendor contracts. The Director, UEVS will assist the director with identifying and the implementation of systems and methods of maintaining a department focused on the importance of performance excellence.
Work Performed
Lead major department initiatives by gathering, tracking and organizing data, presenting recommendations to executive director, working directly with consultants on development of information, organizing information presented by vendor, and presenting to executive director.
Developing senior leadership level reports and PPT's.
Maintaining and progressing agenda items for all customers quarterly meetings.
Assist the executive director with union leadership to support and implement department initiatives.
Provide support for quarterly Facilities Management updates of executive level strategic goals for UEVS department.
Act as lead for all new facility startups
Establish schedules for department model for all work assignments.
Administer the department Work loading program.
Coordinate/Manage the efforts to maintain the integrity of an effective, integrated space data management system. Integrate housekeeping work procedures and operational standards with current university's as-built drawings and space inventory.
Manage the integrity of building drawings and related space information. Perform space data validations for drawings updates by conducting space audits or by coordinating with building's Sr. operational manager and Sr. supervisors on reporting space changes within their assigned areas.
Monitor space changes due to building maintenance, new buildings and renovation projects; update and implement changes as projects are completed; utilize software system module to set up and import space updates as well as new buildings project files.
Provide indirect leadership and supervision for the Logistic's operations team.
Manage the department JIT (Just in Time) delivery program.
Manage the department microfiber program.
Manage the department housekeeping supplies, tools and equipment inventories.
Manage the department preventative maintenance program.
Provide leadership and supervision for the Sr. Operations Manager of Logistics and Training.
Provide leadership and supervision for the Senior Supervisor of Logistics.
Establish goals and process improvement to provide a safe working environment and to create a culture of safety for all housekeeping services and programs.
Schedule, supervise, and evaluate projects; monitor special event preparations; review maintenance requirements and project proposals; monitor outcomes of projects and programs; perform quality control inspections and follow-up; meet established timelines.
Oversight of the department Quality Assurance program.
Coordinate and conduct planned and scheduled building audits of all existing and new university spaces to ensure consistency of cleaning standards, service levels throughout environmental services.
Assist the executive director with the of all Leadership and administrative staff.
Provide and monitor ongoing training for leadership to conduct onsite quality audits, reviews employee work schedules /assignments of task and performance of work areas to ensure that quality services are being provided for our customers.
Will work with supervisors/managers to develop corrective action plans for housekeeping staff.
Conducts analysis and synthesize's data generated from QA initiatives and provide detail reports generated from the work management system for senior leadership.
Support the Executive Director of Environmental Services with Operations as needed and may lead the department in the absence of the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience
Work requires 10 years of professional progressive experience in facilities management housekeeping and housekeeping operations; OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
