Occupational Summary

In collaboration with TIP Executive Director, provide administrative direction and coordination in the formulation, interpretation and administration of current and long-range policies, procedures and programs related to TIP divisional operations.

Work Performed

Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with international and domestic organizations and individuals to assist in the development and successful delivery of educational programs for gifted youth.

Direct operational activities to ensure adequate staffing and appropriate program facilities. Plan departmental budget needs by analyzing program plans on both a short and long term basis including projecting possible levels of external funding support.

Maintain liaison with appropriate university personnel and outside organizations to coordinate divisional business, accomplish directives and facilitate the resolution of problems.

Develop and oversee appropriate risk management strategies that relate to divisional operating issues. Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.

Supervise and coordinate work of divisional management employees and other departmental staff supporting the educational mission. Coordinate the compilation and preparation of operational and financial reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations.

Advise TIP Executive Director on key operational matters as a member of the TIP executive leadership committee. Represent Duke TIP in meetings, conferences, and other affairs of an administrative nature.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work generally requires a Master's degree in Education or related field.

Experience

Work requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in K-12 education or program management, including a minimum of 5 years of administrative management and supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
