Occupational Summary

Gather and process qualitative and quantitative data around jobs, compensation and employment trends. The HR Analyst responsibilities include measuring retention and turnover rates, helping create hiring plans and compensation and benefits packages. Will help ensure maximum efficiency for HR functions, from hiring and payroll to employee training and development.

Management engineering to include the productivity management system, labor budgeting and productivity/process analyses and improvement. Provides decision support to include ongoing performance improvement support. Performance reporting to include management of reporting and related performance metrics. Performance improvement to include project management and support.

Work Performed

Researches and analyzes various HR related issues and participates in problem resolution.

Represents the department in various internal committees, task forces, and cross functional meetings within the University.

Consults with internal customers regarding various transactions; trouble shoots HR related issues and identifies client's business needs.

Participate in HR investigations, job audits and/or negotiations, as appropriate to the individual position; follows up with appropriate parties on findings.

Develops and conducts or participates in specialized presentations and training, as appropriate, covering operational and/or technical HR related information for specified area of expertise.

Provides day-to-day advice, interpretation, and support to client departments regarding the application of human resources policies, guidelines, procedures, and best practices.

Creates and presents complex ad hoc data analyses and reports, as appropriate to the area of expertise; identifies errors and deficiencies and makes process improvement recommendations.

Assist in the development and modification of operating policies, guidelines, procedures, systems, and documentation, as appropriate to the development of best practices within the unit.

Enters and reviews routine employee/applicant data into various human resources data bases and ensures data integrity.

May supervise, lead, train, provide coverage and coordinate the activities of staff performing related work.

Develops and maintains labor analysis for University workforce.

Supports productivity improvement efforts to include the analysis of school processes.

Perform labor variance analysis in cooperation with departmental leadership to improve university labor cost models.

May serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Supervise, train, and mentor other team analysts as needed.

Gather benchmark data about jobs, compensation and benefits.

Calculate retention, turnover and internal mobility rates.

Report on key recruiting metrics like time to fill and hiring costs.

Forecast costs by department and help create budgets.

Analyze employees' answers to internal surveys.

Assess results from our employee performance and exit reviews.

Identify top reasons why candidates and employees choose to work with our company and recommend areas of improvement for our HR procedures.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience. Master's Degree preferred. University / University Healthcare experience preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in successful completion of projects with varying size and complexity, from start-to-finish.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
