Occupational Summary

Provides day to day leadership in the Office of Curricular Affairs by planning and delivering coordinated administrative and programmatic support for all four years of the medical education program.

Responsible for the overall coordination and delivery of curricular resources (human, physical, and financial.)

Work Performed

Administer resources necessary to deliver dynamic curriculum.

Coordinate OCA staff efforts to support courses, course directors and teaching faculty, students, and interdepartmental staff.

Provide coordination and support to senior leadership. Demonstrate independent decision making and functioning on a daily basis.

React to issues of the moment in order to continue uninterrupted delivery of curriculum. Demonstrate flexibility with the ability to reprioritize in a moment's notice.

Oversee all fiscal responsibility including oversight and supervision of staff. Includes daily financial decision-making, financial reporting, developing the annual budget.

Assist students as needed with curricular and administrative needs.

Submit, update and assess annual OCA Administrative Assessment Plans for the SACS accreditation project.

Assure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and Duke policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred.

Experience

Seven years of Curricular Affairs experience, with three years managing staff.
