Occupational Summary
Work Performed
Manage construction projects ranging from $100,000 to 4M annually, dependent upon DCRI's requirements for space.
Develop and monitor the capital budget for the Facility Services group. Negotiate product and service discounts. Manage lease agreements and contracts with providers of equipment, supplies and services.
Establish an annual plan for the Facility Services groups based on organization priorities and industry benchmarks in the areas of customer service, human factors, employee amenities, vendor relations, and supply management.
Evaluate and redesign work processes to ensure maximum effectiveness of staff and technology. Establish appropriate quality control and auditing procedures, with a special emphasis on budgetary expenditures, database integrity, and supply inventories.
Collaborate with the DCRI Space Planner to supervise the maintenance of the building plans, maps, and database for tracking the assignment of office space, telephone numbers, and related data.
Serve as the principal management liaison with the Duke departments to ensure that DCRI remains in compliance with DUMC policies and procedures.
Ensure DCRI is compliant with federal, state, and local ADA requirements.
Administer regulatory oversight on safety and environmental issues.
Collaborate with DCRI IT to establish and maintain an emergency response network to deal with major building incidents that occur outside of normal business hours.
Supervise and mentor direct reports with regard to the administration and management of daily operations.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work requires a bachelor's degree in a related field. Prefer master's degree and current credentials as a Certified Facilities Manager (CFM).
Experience
Work requires a minimum of five years of professional experience involving the coordination of facility operations, which included at least one year of supervisory and budgetary experience. Prefer experience in a health care organization or academic medical center. Prefer minimum of seven years space planning and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) procurement and management.
