Occupational Summary

Develop and implement marketing plans and communications for department.

Work Performed

Develop and oversee marketing campaings.

Manage print and electronic advertising activities, which may include budget, planning campaign, working with design firms and media vendors/buyers for marketing campaigns.

Develop and direct communication plans that communicate and promote patient care, education and research to appropriate audience.

Develop brochures that promote the entity, maintaining the Duke brand.

Direct the creativity and productions of audio, video and written communication to promote the services of the entity.

Oversee the development and maintenance of the department website, including consumer marketing.

Oversee coordination of outreach programs and related marketing efforts.

Manage print and electronic advertising, planning campaign and budget.

Hire and oversee outside consultants as necessary, which may include writers, graphics designers and web vendors.

Develop and manage marketing budget for the department.

Provide supervision to marketing staff including conducting performance reviews, work scheduling and assignment of projects.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires communication, analytical and organizational skills acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires a minimum of four years of experience in publications, public relations, marketing or a related field in order to direct and coordinate a comprehensive marketing and communications program
