Occupational Summary

The Imaging Specialist/Web Manager is responsible for overseeing the web-based and conventional image requests as well as the web based e- commerce function of Duke Photography.

Work Performed

Oversee web-based and conventional image requests and activity including, but not limited to, client interface and web experience, downloading of images, image postings, and overall customer relations.

Oversee the web based e-commerce activity of the office of Duke Photography. Oversight includes planning services for web based transactions and activity, forecasting revenue budget projection, and achieving budgeted projection thru clients use of website images.

Plan, implement, coordinate and maintain web based e-commerce website for purchase and delivery of both stock imagery and daily delivery of client ordered assignments.

Work in conjunction with imaging and photographic staff in scanning, toning (dust removal, color correction and digital retouching of scanned and digitally born images), and posting of images.

Develop, oversee, and maintain color management and imaging standards to ensure high quality reproduction of images on web or in print

Coordinate image requests and assist in scanning, toning, and posting of images to a variety of delivery systems (server, web, ftp, hard media etc) Work with a wide variety of on and off campus clientele to fulfill web based image requests for use of Duke imagery. Oversee and implement client registration process (usernames/passwords).Maintain a current list of clients as users and registrants.

Act as chief liaison with 3rd party developer of web based e-commerce system. Demonstrate understanding of ongoing and projected web activity to advise and assist department in planning growth and future milestones for website.

Develop, codify and enforce metadata and procedural standards for images. Create and coordinate metadata and procedural standards with imaging and photographic staff.

Ensure all staff follows established guidelines for posting of images and assignments to website.

Ensure all images are tagged with appropriate metadata. Generate reports regarding usage, downloads, customer registration, and other info deemed vital by department to web based initiative(s).

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Bachelor degree, or equivalent, with emphasis in photography, photojournalism, visual arts, or multimedia.

Experience

Three years experience in digital imaging technology, with background in web design. Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, image manipulation, color management and imaging software.

Skills

Must be self-starter ,entrepreneurial, flexible, with excellent customer service skills.

Must be able to work in a commercial environment with constantly evolving goals and deadlines.

Experience using specialized software applications to capture, manipulate, process and archive digital images.

Must demonstrate good judgment, and be able to act and work both independently and within a strong team dynamic.

Advanced computer troubleshooting skills, Mac and PC.

Must be able to anticipate, identify, plan, and execute tasks and projects pertaining to the day-to-day imaging needs of Duke Photography.
