Occupational Summary

Assists the Director of Recruitment in developing, managing, implementing and evaluating recruitment policies and procedures. Assists the Director in planning, developing and implementing recruitment strategies. Provides broad direction to all central HR recruiters. May also include responsibility for major program areas such as Professional Development Institute, Duke Temporary Service, Executive Recruitment, and Workforce Planning.

Work Performed

Assists the Director in developing, managing, implementing and evaluating recruitment policies and procedures. Assists the Director in planning, developing and implementing recruitment strategies. Supports the Director in forecasting and managing the annual Recruitment budget.

Provides broad direction to all central HR recruiters. Provides direct supervision to subordinate staff. Provides leadership for training, development, coaching and counseling, while building a team environment.

Develops professional development plans for staff provides timely feedback throughout the year.

Develops and tracks appropriate metrics to monitor progress in meeting strategic plan objectives, financial targets, and customer service expectations.

Conducts senior level or executive recruitments as necessary.

Assists in daily recruitment functions, applicant tracking system enhancements and integration of business practices. Backs up recruiters in each functional area as necessary.

Provides training and support to HR managers, business managers, and hiring officials to facilitate workforce diversity, legal compliance, and Duke policies.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work generally requires skills, knowledge, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.

Experience

Work generally requires seven years of experience working closely with hiring managers on recruiting and other human resource issues in a dynamic and diverse environment or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Full cycle recruiting; broad HR knowledge, analytical, strategic planning, pc-based quantitative, written and oral communication; supervision/ leadership
