Occupational Summary

Perform a variety of duties related to student loan processing and loan collections including a variety of complex electronic financial transactions, analysis, and reconciliations of university and federal funds. Participate and perform independently duties related to student receivables, loan processes, and personal finance.

Work Performed

Perform daily collection efforts of the University's institutional loans, and loan processing, and run daily reports to correct any errors or issues that arise.

Compile and analyze information in support of program activities; prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations.

Prepare reconciliations on a regular basis, and resolve research items quickly.

Receive, analyze and respond to incoming correspondence regarding student loans and collections.

Schedule and facilitate small-group in-person discussions for loan interviews requiring understanding of student loan exit materials, repayment plan options, and basic money management skills.

Assist with large group loan presentations for over 100 participants at a time to answer questions of participants and serve as support for main presenter.

Provide small-group presentations on a variety of personal finance topics to undergraduate and graduate students around the university.

Independently communicate and interact with students to provide effective customer service, including receiving, researching and appropriately responding to inquiries and/or complaints with regards to their student loan accounts.

Maintain student account documentation to assist agencies in the collection of outstanding loans from graduated or withdrawn students; maintain relevant statistics for reporting and analysis.

Maintain knowledge of current and changing federal regulations regarding Title IV funds, and the student lending environment.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education/Training

Work requires analytical and communication skills as well as familiarity with the academic setting generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
