Title: Director of Research Development
Department: Duke Human Vaccine Institute
Entity: Duke School of Medicine
Class Year: 2019

Bio:
I've been with the Duke Human Vaccine Institute (DHVI) since 2007 where I started as a Laboratory Manager. I managed a complex transgenic mouse program, as well as a laboratory staff of scientists, vet techs, and bench techs. In 2016, I transitioned into Program Management, where I merged multiple animal programs within DHVI into a cohesive unit, as well as managed federal grants and contracts to maintain timelines, stay on budget, and produce deliverables with domestic and international partners. I recently moved into the new role of Associate Director of Program Management at DHVI. As a student in the Duke Management Academy, I am excited to learn new skills to help my growing team expand existing programs, develop new programs, and work with larger internal and external groups. I want to learn techniques to coach and mentor the members of my team, discover approaches for meaningful dialogue with peers and stakeholders to get great results, and learn more about myself in the process.
