Bio:
Kim Thompson joined Duke Employee Occupational Health & Wellness in 2012 as the Clinical Services Administrative Manager. In this role, Mrs. Thompson is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clinic. Her role requires personnel and financial management, as well as strategic thinking. Her direct reports include nurse and administrative supervisors of varied multi-disciplinary operations. During her tenure, Mrs. Thompson has implemented several programs and processes to improve the delivery of health care. She was a key member of the team charged with designing and launching the Duke University Health System FMLA management program. In 2018, she was instrumental in planning and implementing extended clinic hours for new nurses. Kim Thompson has over 20 years of experience in Finance and Administration. Prior to this current appointment, Mrs. Thompson served as the Administrator for Duke Integrative Medicine, Financial Analyst for Duke University Health System and Duke Hospital, Administrator for UNC- Chapel Hill Student Health and Administrative Manager for Hartford Gyn Center. Mrs. Thompson earned her Masters in Health Administration and Masters in Health Sciences, Health Information Systems from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1998.

Mrs. Thompson lives in Durham, NC where she and her husband are raising a sweet and energetic 8 year old son. In her personal time, Mrs. Thompson enjoys cooking, fishing and listening to live music.
