Title: Research Practice Manager
Department: Neurosurgery, SOM
Entity: Duke University Health System
Class Year: 2019

Bio:
I have been serving as the Research Practice Manager for the Department of Neurosurgery at Duke University Medical Center for the past 2+ years. I have been a Registered Nurse for over 36 years and have participated in clinical research throughout my career, but primarily over the past 15 years. The research that I have been participating in has ranged from studying different immunotherapies (INDs), with a particular interest in brain cancer vaccines, to studying devices (IDEs) for a multitude of neurosurgical and neurologic conditions. Previously, I served as the Primary Regulatory Specialist and Research Nurse on multiple Phase I and II studies. I am now honored to participate in research trials for all of neurosurgery by helping to develop and grow clinical research for the entire department and manage an expanding team of research staff.

In summary, I am a Registered Nurse that is uniquely positioned to combine clinical research, protocol development and trial design, regulatory oversight, experience in clinical care of patients with malignant brain tumors, neurological disease, and translational research with clinical research management.
