Bio:
Melissa has been with the Department of Surgery since late 2011 working in Research Administration. For the past five years, Melissa has served as a Grants and Contracts Manager and now as the Senior Grants and Contracts Manager for both the Department of Surgery and the Department of Head and Neck Surgery and Communication Sciences. Her responsibilities include management oversight for all research administration activities for both Departments, including grants and contracts and industry funded clinical research.

She has degrees in International Studies and Global Development from the University of Dayton. She also participates in the research administration community both within Duke and with outside organizations like NCURA and SRA.

Outside of Duke Health, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband Ben and their two children. She enjoys running, watching college sports, and taking frequent visits to their family beach house.
