Bio:
Andrea Long, PharmD, is the Sr. IT Manager for Population Health Analytics, serving within both Duke Health Technology Solutions (DHTS) and Duke's Population Health Management Office (PHMO). In this role, she oversees a team of analysts responsible for data exchange, reporting and analysis, and EMR configuration to support Duke's effective administration of value based contract arrangements and the quality of care delivered to those patient members.

After receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2006, she began a career as a licensed pharmacist at Duke Hospital with a focus on adverse drug event reporting and analyses (2007). Eager to continue leveraging data to aid clinical decisions and impact care delivery, she shifted into more indirect patient care roles ' first as an application EMR analyst (2011) and now managing a population health focused data team (2016). She found her niche as a liaison between Duke Health clinicians and technical teams, fusing her own clinical and technical experience to serve others. Outside of the office, Andrea mostly enjoys family time and many sporting events with her husband and two young boys. She also carves out time to exercise, learn guitar, garden, and volunteer at her church food pantry.
