Bio:
Samira Wellemeyer is the Director of the International Program Office at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in Durham North Carolina. Samira's office offers exceptional international experiential learning opportunities to Fuqua students through short-term faculty-led courses and exchange programs. She also works closely with international students to ensure that they maintain visa status while at Fuqua. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know people from all over the world and getting to travel to new places.

Samira has always been interested in learning about other cultures and languages, having lived abroad in England, Germany, and Moldova, where she served as a Peace Corps Health Education Volunteer. Samira knew from a young age that she would be a Peace Corps Volunteer, as she grew up listening to her parents' nostalgic stories of their time serving as PCVs in Yemen. She speaks fluent Romanian and some German. Samira holds an MA in International Education from The George Washington University and a BA in International Studies and German from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, MI.

Fun fact: Samira, her husband Greg, and their kids Desmond and Winnie were all four born at Durham Regional Hospital. They are proud to be from Durham and lucky to have many family members on both sides who live locally. They can usually be found hiking, listening to live music and taking road trips to visit friends and explore new places.
