Bio:
Early life experiences sharpened my awareness of the association between health care inequities and zip
code. This awareness developed a commitment to process improvement, a call to spread knowledge, and
obligation to identify supports that increase access to quality care. Initial career foci included
developing biological models to understand the underlying cause of medical conditions in research labs at
Cornell University and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. After a decade, I pivoted my career
focus to look up and out focusing on large-scale health care improvement. Upon receiving my Master's in
Health Care Administration from the Gilling's School of Global Public Health at the University of North
Carolina Chapel Hill I joined the Duke family.
Over the past 14 years, I have proactively pursued both formal and informal leadership roles. Currently as
the Co-Director of the Data and Evaluation Program for the UCLA/Duke University National Center for Child
Traumatic Stress I lead a skilled and engaged team to measure and communicate the profound impact of our
center and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, which serves 80,000 children and provides training
to 90,000 professionals each quarter. Additionally, I co-developed an organization-level intervention that
enhances trauma-informed practices and I am leading its dissemination across the United States.
