Bio:
Delores McNair is the division administrator in the departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopedics at Duke
University School of Medicine/ Duke University Health System for all sites. Delores has work in a variety of
roles including clinical and managerial during her 15+ years at Duke and across several of the Duke entities. In
her current role, she manages and oversees the overall operations, Spine clinical research unit, finances,
budget, productivity, fellowship, and productivity for the division. She serves as a member of the Spine Co-
management Operations, Planning, Quality, and Executive committees at Duke Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, and
Duke Regional Hospital. She is the administrative liaison with DUHS system leadership, revenue management, and
the division strategic planning, faculty recruitment, and the management of personnel. Delores is a member of
the Duke University Hospital Neurosciences and Duke Raleigh Hospital Patient and Family Advisory Councils. A
member of ACHE, THEF, MGMA, NERVES and serves on the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Group on
Business Affairs (GBA) Professional Development Committee. Volunteering and mentoring are strong passions
Delores has been actively engaged in for more than 10 years. Delores mentors formally with multiple
organizations, serves as a keynote speaker and manages to successful run a business coaching and mentoring
others. She is also the founder of a 501c3 focused on her passions. Before moving into the administrative side
of academic medicine, Delores worked for several years in Hematology Oncology and is also certified by the
American Society for Clinical Pathology with a specialty in hematology. She volunteers extensively in her
community advocating for health services and support for the cognitively impaired and geriatric populations.
