Bio:
Robin Goodwin started at Duke in the Department of Ophthalmology in 1981, after receiving her Associate Degree in Administration Management. Currently 44 years within the same Department she has received some of the highest mentions at Duke, which includes being the recipient of the Presidential Award in 2007. Currently in her role as Administrative Coordinator she leads a team of staff assistants that she inspires/mentors to help them successfully meet their goals throughout their career. She has demonstrated that innovation and determination are key factors as you strive to grow within your leadership role. Along with mentoring staff, I have had the privilege and honor to mentor fellows and medical students to enhance their knowledge of ophthalmology to promote their career paths. Ensuring the operational needs of the department are supported, I also am always looking to introduce new methodologies to promote positivity in the workplace. Duke educational opportunities have excelled my growth at Duke while also giving me the opportunity to give back to an institution that has invested in my career.
