I started my career at Duke in August 2000 as a temporary front desk receptionist. In January of 2001, I was offered a position of Staff Specialist in the same department. In April 2001, I was promoted to Human Resources Director. I am responsible for recruitment, onboarding, development training, payroll, uniforms and personnel concerns. I assist with negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements, including handling numerous arbitrations involving discharge, discipline, sub-contracting and/or removal of bargaining unit work and other contractual issues. I serve as a panel member in the dispute resolution process.
I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from East Carolina University. I attended graduate school at North Carolina Central University, where I received me Juris Doctorate. I have also obtained my PHR certification.
