Bio:
Margaret W. (Maggie) Epps is Associate University Secretary at Duke University. Having served in the role since December 2014, Maggie manages searches and reviews for senior officers of the university; supports the work of the Board of Trustees and its committees, in particular the process of identifying and cultivating candidates for service as trustees; designs and administers orientation for new trustees; and serves as deputy to the vice president and university secretary. Prior to joining the Office of the University Secretary, Maggie served as chief of staff to the chancellor for health affairs/CEO of Duke University Health System beginning in 2012 and was responsible for planning and directing the administrative, financial and operational activities of the chancellor's office and facilitation or execution of the chancellor's programs and initiatives. Maggie began her career at Duke in 1999 in Duke Medicine's Office of Marketing and Creative Services, where she held positions of increasing responsibility during her 13-year tenure, the last being director of operations where her duties included financial management, workflow operations management, and human resources and general department administration. Maggie holds B.S.Ed ('94) and M.Ed ('96) degrees from the University of Georgia and certificates for the successful completion of numerous classes and workshops.
