Bio:
Carl Weisner is Senior Director of the Clergy Health Initiative, an initiative funded by The Duke Endowment to understand and improve the health of United Methodist clergy and congregations in North Carolina. Carl has worked at the intersection of theology and health for Duke Divinity School since 2008, when he joined the staff as Managing Director of the Institute on Care at the End of Life. Through CHI and the Divinity School's Initiative in Theology, Medicine, and Culture, Carl's work bridges several schools and institutes across the university. Carl develops strategy and oversees the execution of programs and projects for the Clergy Health Initiative and the Initiative in Theology, Medicine, and Culture, with a current focus on building, translating, and sustaining the success and impact of the initiatives. Carl began his professional career as a consultant to employee benefit plans and served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for a privately held consulting and investment advisory firm before transitioning to work with Duke Divinity School. He is a graduate of Duke University with degrees in mathematics and philosophy, and holds a master's degree in philosophy from the University of Texas.
