Bio:
Julie Cusatis joined Duke University in 2011 to coordinate three grant funded diversity and inclusion initiatives for the School of Nursing; MADIN II, the Health Equity Academy, and the Winston Salem State University - Duke University School of Nursing Bridge to the Doctorate. As a result of her work and on-going commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity, she was honored to receive the 2015 Duke University and Health System's Blue Ribbon Diversity Award.

In 2014, she joined the School of Nursing's Office of Global and Community Health Initiatives (OGACHI) as the Senior Manager of International Programs. In this capacity, she works closely with internal and external stakeholders and global partners worldwide to coordinate international activities including short-term global clinical immersion experiences for nursing students.

Prior to coming to Duke, Julie lead half, full and multiday experiential training and development programs, guided and managed the operations of a 33-acre retreat center, cultivated fund-raising and resource development activities for a local non-profit, and directed marketing and guest relations for an 80-room luxury boutique hotel. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison and currently working on a Master's of Education in Training and Development at North Carolina State University.
