Bio:
Kevin McCarthy joined the Nicholas School of the Environment as associate dean for development and alumni relations in January of 2012. He directs all development and alumni relations programs for the Nicholas School, providing strategic advice to the dean on these initiatives. Kevin is also responsible for coordinating the activities of the Board of Visitors with the Dean. Under his leadership, the Nicholas School's portion of the Duke Forward campaign raised $114 million on a $55 million goal that included several seven and eight figure gifts to establish numerous professorships, support construction of two new academic buildings and funding to build and operate a new research vessel for the Duke Marine Lab.

Kevin is an accomplished executive with nearly 30 years of experience in the fields of fundraising, marketing and communications for healthcare and higher education institutions. He is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), and has designed award-winning fundraising, marketing and communications programs over the span of his career and directed several organizations to higher levels of philanthropic growth and achievement.
