Bio:
Kent Wicker serves as the Assistant Director of the Graduate Liberal Studies Program at Duke. His focus in the program is academics, which includes serving on master's examination committees, providing student academic and writing support, and developing policies and procedures to maintain academic quality. He also teaches the GLS core course in graduate-level interdisciplinary studies. Dr. Wicker has served on the board of the Association of Graduate Liberal Studies Programs, and led several workshop sessions at the annual convention. He has worked in a number of capacities both inside and outside academia as a teacher, writer and editor. He holds a BS in International Relations from Georgetown and a PhD in English from Duke. His current academic interests include embodied identity; class, gender and place in American and post-colonial literatures; and narrative theory.
