Bio:
Heather Hughes serves as a Project Manager for the Benefits Office at Duke. Her focus is on managing large scale record keeping conversions, process improvement and program compliance for Duke's various employee retirement programs. Heather is a PMP certified project manager and has been managing Duke's retirement plan projects since 2011. She is committed to simplifying processes, quality improvement and continual learning. She has served on several committees including the Duke University Federal Credit Union Member Services Advisory Committee and the Duke Community Care Fund Grant Review team. Prior to coming to Duke, Heather worked for the Principal Financial Group in several different roles including an IT Business Analyst, Quality Assurance Analyst and Project Manager. Heather holds a BS in Biology and Economics and a MA in Economics from the University of New Brunswick, Canada. She loves the outdoors and enjoys farm living in Hillsborough, NC with her husband (Jonathan) and daughter (Izzie) and a few farm animals.
