Bio:
Carolyn Gerber is the special assistant to the vice president for public affairs and government relations at Duke and manages a wide variety of communications responsibilities. She is an editor of The Duke Daily, which goes out to 50,000 faculty, staff, and students every morning, and The Duke Weekly, which is sent to 120,000 alumni each Saturday. She helps to support the Duke University Board of Trustees, staffs the Committee on Honorary Degrees, and has worked with a number of university-wide initiatives concerned with institutional history. From 2010 to 2017, Carolyn worked in the President's Office at Duke, serving as special assistant to President Richard H. Brodhead.
Carolyn is a 1990 graduate of Duke and also pursued graduate work in the Ph.D. program in English. She then worked in Duke's Office of Undergraduate Admissions. From 2001 to 2010, she lived in Singapore, where she worked in the administration of the National University of Singapore.
