Bio:
Matt Hutter is Assistant Vice President of Development for Duke Science and Technology, a faculty-hiring and fundraising effort designed to enhance excellence in the sciences at Duke. Matt joined Duke in October of 2019 and is a member of the Alumni Engagement and Development leadership team. Prior to Duke, Matt was Executive Director for Strategic Initiatives at the University of Oregon. In this role, Matt served as the lead fundraiser
for science and research, including the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact, and led the Corporate Relations and Foundation Relations teams as a senior leader in the Office of Advancement.
Matt began his development career at the Claremont
Colleges at Claremont Graduate University and has a
successful track-record for securing philanthropic support for graduate education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship from individuals, foundations and corporations. Matt is co-founder of the Strategic Initiatives Group for Advancement Professionals (SIGAP), a non-profit, professional development organization for fundraisers tasked with securing transformational gifts for large-scale institutional priorities.
A native of Southern California, Matt currently resides in Chapel Hill, NC with his wife and two sons.
