Bio:
Richard Outten is the director of the Enterprise Web and Mobile team within Duke's Office of Information Technology (OIT). He is responsible for overseeing Duke Web Services and the Applications Development Team. These teams are responsible for services like Sites@Duke Express, Sites@Duke Pro, Trinity Distribution, Alumni Network and Scholars@Duke. With the variety of projects, he stresses the importance of team collaboration, mentoring and development of people to address the diverse challenges that are needed. Richard started at Duke as a application developer in OIT before moving to team lead and then becoming a manager. He was also the proud recipient of Duke's Presidential Award 2015 in the managerial category. Richard holds a M.S. in Software Engineering and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering both from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
