Bio:
Shelly Terry joined Duke University in June 2023 as its first Director of Trademark Licensing for the Office of Trademark Licensing. Terry brought years of experience working in sports communications, branding, game operations, corporate partnerships and licensing to the University. In 2020, she was voted to the International Collegiate Licensing Association Board, where she now serves as 2nd Vice-President.

Terry previously served in various branding and licensing capacities at The University of North Carolina, The University of Oklahoma, National Collegiate Athletic Association and the NFLPA/Players' Inc. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Terry is a graduate of Alabama A&M University where she lettered four seasons as a member of the women's basketball program. After receiving a bachelor's degree in marketing from AAMU, she earned masters degrees in business administration and sport business management from the University of Central Florida. Most recently, Terry obtained a master's degree in adult and higher education with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletics from The University of Oklahoma.
