Bio:
Carolyn Moore Arias, MPH, is the Director of Industry Partnerships and Strategic Programs at the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), where she leads efforts to cultivate and expand research collaborations with industry partners. She works closely with biopharmaceutical, medical device, and digital health companies to align DCRI's expertise with industry needs, driving high-impact research initiatives that advance clinical care and improve patient outcomes. Arias and her team develop innovative partnership models, identify new research opportunities, and shape strategies to support cutting-edge clinical research. In addition, she oversees Strategic Programs that enhance study design, therapeutic education, and thought leadership in clinical research. Before joining DCRI, Arias led Biogen's U.S. commercialization strategy across multiple sclerosis and rare disease programs. She also held roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts in health care reform and at IQVIA in corporate communications. Arias holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in public health from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. When she's not forging new research partnerships, Arias enjoys adventuring with her husband and two daughters, whether that means exploring a new city or discovering a hidden gem of a restaurant, and diving into the latest pick for her book club.
