Bio:
Christy Whaley joined Duke in 2014 and currently serves as the Senior Director of Academic HR in the Office of the Provost. In this role, she collaborates with senior leadership to shape HR strategies and support schools and academic units, while overseeing a team of HR Directors. Prior to this role, Christy held other HR positions within the University and School of Medicine, including HR Department Director and HR Department Manager, where she provided HR support and played a key role in recruitment, employee development, and compensation management. Christy holds a Master of Science in Human Resources from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science from Meredith College. Additionally, she earned the HR Strategic Partner Certificate of Excellence from Duke University. She lives in Raleigh with her husband Bill, daughter Kaylyn and dog, Mizuno.
